The 21st Annual Paws in the Park dog walk and festival is a signature special event of the Montgomery County Humane Society, held in partnership with the City. One of the largest dog walks in the DC area, it raises funds to help homeless and abandoned animals throughout Montgomery County.

The fun-filled afternoon includes a 1-mile walk for dogs and people, pet games, prizes, demos, rescue groups, a “flealess” market with pet-friendly vendors, food, music and more.

Fun for the whole family, Paws in the Park helps hundreds of animals awaiting their forever homes. Proceeds support MCHS’s life-saving programs that protect and care for unwanted, abandoned and abused animals – everything from dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs, to reptiles, birds and others. Contributions make a difference in the animals’ lives as well as assist the people who love them. Programs include veterinary care, off-site adoption events, animal rescue, pet retention and pet bereavement workshops, foster homes, humane education, behavior advice, affordable spay/neuter, and a network of approximately 200 partnering rescue groups.

    Calling All Animal Lovers!
The 86th Annual Dover Days Festival proudly invites you to join us with your animal companion during the 2019 Dover Days Pet Parade Sponsored by the Delmarva Region of National Capital Therapy Dogs, INC! Within the Dover Days Parade, animal lovers and their animal companions stroll through the parade route as a group to emphasize the importance of the companionship and the love we share for our animals. Registration is open to the public through EventBrite.com
Pets and their owners must be in line on Smith Street by 9am.  The Parade will step off at 9:30am and concludes near the Delaware Archives Building on Legislative Mall.  No return transportation is provided.  Parking is not permitted on Smith Avenue, Pennsylvania Avenue, or Hazel Road.  Please just do one entry for each pet that will be walking the parade.  Please note that we do not accept floats and carts and golf carts.  Please call Kent County Tourism at 302-734-4888, Parade Coordinator for more information and to obtain a general form for the parade.   All pets, their owners and additional types of pet related entries will be placed together for safety purposes. This is a registration and no cost is associated with this registration.
We hope you can join us for a great morning of fun and don't forget to visit the more than 300 craft, product and food vendors and shops throughout Downtown Dover, as well as all of the activities planned to celebrate the First State Capital's history.  This year's Dover Days theme is Dover's History and Heritage - feel free to dress in costumes to reflect the theme or any other theme that you and your pet pal(s) enjoy!
