Register for Classes/Evaluation

Generally, NCTD sponsors training and evaluation for new volunteers in the Baltimore-Washington area approximately four times each year. Because our volunteers come from a wide area, classes are held in various locations (usually Howard or Montgomery County MD) to allow for easier access for participants.

To begin, you should register for these three events:

    1. Handler's Class
    2. Therapy Dog Training Class (TDTC)
    3. Therapy Team Evaluation

More information about each of events these is available through the Sitemap menu or by clicking the links above. You can find dates and locations for each class on the Calendar of Events.

The best and easiest way to register for classes and evaluations is online. Just go to the Calendar of Events to find the class or event you want. Click on that event and it will take you to the online registration page. You will also be able to make your payment there securely through PayPal.

If you prefer, you can print out a Registration form (under Online Forms), complete it manually, and mail it to us with a check. Please refer to the Contact Us page for the relevant street address to use.

Note that paper registration forms may not be reviewed and acknowledged until shortly before the event. Until then, assume you are registered.

Financial assistance to cover fees may be available via our "Gandalf Fund". Individuals requesting this assistance should write a letter (e-mail is preferred) to the NCTD Board of Directors for review. Please include this with your registration application.
