Come spend the weekend (or just one day) with us as Suzanne teaches about a variety of topics. Saturday’s agenda includes Reflected Relationship – the assessment & suitability in animal assisted therapy (Therapy Dogs) and FAT (Functional Assessment Tracking). Sunday’s education will consist of the Elemental Questions as the framework for understanding each dog and Observation Skills to include body language, VAKO, fatigue, confusion and more, as well as her Connection Course.
Brief Biography: Suzanne Clothier has been working with animals professionally since 1977, with a deep background of experience that includes obedience, agility, puppy testing, breeding, Search & Rescue, conformation, instructing, kennel management and canine midwifery. She is well respected for her holistic Relationship Centered Training™ approach to dogs and the people that love them. For more details see suzanneclothier.com.
Seminar Hours: Starts at 9 am, ends at 5 pm each day includes a mid-morning break, lunch hour (recommend bringing your own lunch, beverage, and snacks), and a mid-afternoon break.
Fee: For non-NCTD members; one-day fee is $170 (either day), two-day fee is ($300). Payments made to the National Capital Therapy Dogs, Inc or NCTD. Payments need to be received no later than May 11, 2017 at 11:59 pm.
SAR Scholarship: The Sterling Gillis Memorial K-9 SAR Scholarship allows operational K-9 Search & Rescue handlers to attend at no charge. Suzanne waives her per-person fee for any operational K-9 SAR Handler who attends on this scholarship basis. RSVP as noted below, including your SAR status.
Please remember to bring your own chair, drinks and snacks. No chairs are available at the site. No working slots available. If you are bringing your well-behaved dog, provide adequate supplies (rug and/or kennel, water, water bowl).
