Dear NCTD Volunteer,

We’re thrilled to invite you and your dog to a free continuing education event hosted by the NCTD Events Committee on Sunday, March 30, 2025. This "open floor" session is a great opportunity to learn and socialize with fellow volunteers!

Dental Health for Dogs

Dr. Katie Malehorn, Veterinarian

  • Presentation on Dental Health for Dogs
  • Q&A session
  • Snacks and social time for both humans and dogs

  4. IMPORTANT:  Notify Harriet Meyers at har.meyers@gmail.com if you plan to bring your dog.

There is no charge to attend.

What to Bring:

  • You are welcome to attend with or without your dog. If you bring your dog, please follow standard therapy dog visit guidelines (i.e., keep your dog on a leash and a few feet away from others).
  • Be sure to bring a water dish, a blanket for your dog to lie on, and poop bags.

About Dr. Katie Malehorn:
Dr. Katie earned her veterinary degree from The University of Georgia and has been practicing in the D.C. Metro area since 2015. She specializes in Preventative Medicine, Geriatric Care, Dentistry, and Surgery, with additional expertise in Behavior Medicine and Shelter Medicine. Dr. Katie has also worked abroad in Perugia, Italy, and Edinburgh, Scotland, focusing on Neurology and Internal Medicine.

She is passionate about Fear-Free techniques and has taken on leadership roles within the American Medical Veterinary Association. Outside of veterinary medicine, you’ll likely find her on a golf course, as she’s an active member of the DC and Baltimore LPGA Amateur Association.
